Tips for Good Sleep
We find the nights are a particular challenge for campers, as temperatures can get quite low. The girls sleep on elevated cots, so the cold air can permeate air mattresses and sleeping bags from the ground up. As girls are often not able to sleep when they are cold, we recommend the following for a good night’s rest:
1) Exercise (yoga) mat/closed cell mat to provide an impermeable layer between the cot and the sleeping bag. (Walmart, Amazon, Camper’s Village, MEC)
2) Single width foamy, air mattress or similar (to make cot more comfortable).
3) Warm sleeping bag (the higher the rating the better).
4) Warm clothing for sleeping. Girls who wear ‘onesies,’ sweats or leggings, socks and hoodies (or toques) get the best rest. Encourage your daughter to dress in layers for bed.
5) Place luggage under cot on plastic (heavy duty garbage bag work well) to provide additional barrier to cold.
Captivenia Uniform
To ensure a good sense of team unity, we request all program participants please wear official Captivenia t-shirts, hoodies and caps.
Every registration includes: one t-shirt, and a water-bottle. For those who have sufficient water bottles, there is an opt out option. Additional purchases can be made during the registration process by logging into Registration Portal.
1) Captivenia T-shirts: One included in registration fee. We recommend bringing or purchasing one or two additional t-shirts.
2) Captivenia Cap: Please purchase an official Captivenia Cap or bring a navy cap from home.
3) Captivenia Hoodie: Two hoodies are ideal, if possible, in case one gets wet.
4) Pants/Jeans/Shorts/Capris: Navy blue. Please do not bring ‘short’ shorts. See guidelines below.
5) Recommended: Rainwear should be navy in colour, if possible.
NOTE: Our Captivenia Hoodies are highly popular and will likely not be available for “last minute purchases” at camp. To avoid disappointment order at time of registration.
Realm Apparel
In order to respect the local customs of Captivenia and the Realm of Lumenorus, please abide by the following guidelines:
» Pants, shorts, and capris must be denim or navy. Please do not bring leggings or yoga pants.
The guideline we offer for shorts is that when standing with your arms down at your sides, the bottom of the shorts reaches the length of the middle finger.
» Please refrain from modifying the Captivenia t-shirts by cutting off or rolling up the sleeves.
TIP: Old jeans cut at the appropriate length and rolled up at the bottom are a popular choice!
Thank you in advance!

Fundraising Ideas for Girls!
We are always inspired by the initiatives undertaken by Maidens and Bellesera who raise funds to cover their fees and other costs. Girls as young as eight or nine have shared how they have collected bottles, set up lemonade stands, sold baking and more, to raise funds toward Captienia! How inspiring is that!! Follow the link below for ideas and inspiration to help you get started with your own personal Captivenia Fundraising campaign!
